Vanilla Custom Gear GearBar 550 Folding – Folding Cargo Supports

Important: The GearBar 550 Folding is sold as a set of two supports. The BikeRail rails and BikeGrab tube shown in the photos are not included.

The Vanilla Custom Gear GearBar 550 Folding consists of folding aluminium cargo supports designed for installation on the Vanilla MultiFix R and Vanilla MultiFix L base racks. The product makes it easier to secure additional luggage, outdoor accessories, larger items and components of the bike transport system.

The supports are 55 cm long and do not protrude significantly beyond the rear of the vehicle when folded. This allows them to be used only when required while maintaining a more compact setup on the campervan’s rear doors during everyday use.

The GearBar 550 Folding is made from 4 mm PA11 / AW-5754 aluminium. This material offers high corrosion resistance, low weight and excellent rigidity. The components are laser-cut and formed using digitally controlled press brakes, ensuring precise manufacturing and a proper fit with the Vanilla Custom Gear system.

The surface is protected with finely textured RAL 9005 black powder coating. Blackened stainless steel bolts are also used, ensuring that all components are corrosion-resistant and suitable for expedition use.

The supports can be fitted with BikeRail rails and a BikeGrab mount to create a rack for carrying bikes, including electric bikes. They can also be used to transport larger luggage, SUP boards in carrying bags, folding pushchairs and other bulky accessories.

XtraPlate 100 or XtraPlate 300 panels can also be installed on the GearBar 550 Folding supports to create a more versatile cargo platform.
