Vanilla Custom Gear CargoCube 60 – Multifunctional Storage Box

The Vanilla Custom Gear CargoCube 60 is an aluminium storage box designed for installation on the rear doors of a campervan. It is suitable for road trips, campervan holidays, off-road expeditions and everyday transport of additional luggage outside the vehicle interior.

The box has a capacity of approximately 144 litres, providing convenient storage for camping accessories, expedition equipment, tools, outdoor clothing and other gear required during travel. Its sealed construction protects the contents from moisture, water, road salt and dirt.

The CargoCube 60 is made from 2.5 mm and 4 mm PA11 / AW-5754 aluminium. This material offers high corrosion resistance and excellent durability while maintaining a relatively low weight. The components are laser-cut and formed using digitally controlled press brakes, while selected sections of the construction are welded to improve rigidity and strength.

The surface is protected with finely textured RAL 9005 black powder coating. Blackened stainless steel bolts are also used, ensuring that all components are corrosion-resistant and suitable for use in demanding conditions.

The box features side mounting panels with the Vanilla Grid hole pattern and an internal mounting panel on the door. This allows additional equipment to be attached using M8 bolts or Airline-style fittings. Securing strap attachment points improve the stability of the transported equipment.

A folding shelf is fitted inside to make organising luggage easier. When additional space is required, it can be folded away quickly in a single movement without removing any bolts or using tools, providing the full interior capacity for larger items.

The box door is equipped with gas struts that open it and hold it securely in the raised position, even on uneven ground. A key-operated lock provides convenient access, while an additional padlock option offers increased protection for the stored equipment.

The CargoCube 60 is installed between the vertical sections of the Vanilla MultiFix rack, reducing how far the box protrudes from the rear of the vehicle. The mounting position can also be lowered as much as possible by removing the lower panel of the base rack. Thanks to its internal reinforcements, the box can also be installed on base racks from other manufacturers.
