The Nomadic Cooling X2 Helix Gen II 12 V is a compact roof-mounted DC air conditioner designed for vans, campervans and motorhomes. It has been developed for efficient off-grid cooling without requiring a campsite hook-up or generator.

The compact X2 Helix housing takes up less space on the vehicle roof, leaving more room for solar panels, a roof rack or other accessories. Its low-profile design helps reduce aerodynamic drag while maintaining high cooling performance both while travelling and when parked.

The air conditioner operates from a 12 V DC electrical system and has been designed to work with moderate-sized battery banks. Its PWM-controlled compressor helps maintain the selected temperature smoothly, reducing sudden power consumption spikes and improving comfort during extended off-grid stays.

The Helix system allows the air conditioner to be controlled from a phone, tablet or smartwatch. Users can access scenes, schedules, remote control and advanced operating settings. The diagnostic system displays information including voltage, cut-off thresholds and clear fault codes.

The high-humidity mode helps remove humid air from the interior of the van or motorhome more quickly. This is particularly useful after showering, when parked near water or in humid climates. A sealed rear panel and waterproof automotive-grade connectors protect the electronics from dust, moisture and dirt.

Inside the vehicle, the unit features a slim powder-coated metal finishing panel that provides a clean appearance without creating a bulky plastic housing beneath the ceiling. External stainless steel mounting hardware improves corrosion resistance.

The air conditioner fits a standard roof opening measuring approximately 35.6 × 35.6 cm, with a tolerance of approximately 1.27 cm. The product is available in black and white.
